Owner, Trainer, Professional Rider, USEF "R" Licensed Course Designer

Tom has been riding, training and teaching in the equine industry for over thirty years. As a junior he rode and competed successfully throughout Massachusetts, New England and along the East Coast. Tom graduated magna cum laude from Johnson and Wales University in Providence, Rhode Island with a bachelor’s degree in Equine Business Management and became a licensed Massachusetts Riding Instructor while in college. 

As a USEF “R” hunter and jumper course designer, Tom has been designing courses for over 20 years at notable venues throughout the US including Great Lakes Equestrian Festival, Las Vegas National Horse Show, Boston Jumper Classic, HITS and Fieldstone Show Park.
Tom especially enjoys designing for the increasingly popular hunter derbies and designed the 2015 and 2016 Pin Oak Charity Horse Show International Hunter Derbies in Katy, Texas as well as the GLEF International Derby in Traverse City, Michigan.

As a professional rider & trainer, Tom continues to successfully show hunters and jumpers throughout the East Coast. He uses his skill as a horseman to build inviting and appropriately challenging courses for all levels of horse and rider.

Amy Elizabeth Hern
Owner & Barn Manager


Amy Hern is the farm’s Barn Manager. Amy’s riding career began over thirty years ago and is fueled by a genuine love of the horses. After a successful junior riding and show career, Amy attended the University of Connecticut and Northeastern University and went on to pursue a career in the biotech industry employed by a French biotech company in infectious disease research as a Senior Staff Scientist and Project Manager. While at the University of Connecticut, Amy’s studies focused on Equine Health and feeding of the performance horse, she uses this knowledge base to provide qualified, meticulous planning of feed and care regimens for Kingsway’s equine athletes. While working in the biotech industry Amy traveled extensively through Europe and spent time researching warmblood bloodlines at the national breeding stud farms in France, The Netherlands and Germany. Amy turned her focus to the equine industry full time in 2004, she is the Northeast Saddle Fitter for Antares Custom Saddles and enjoys riding and showing her own horse Flamenco 135 (Florestan I x Concordia).

Bridget Hatch
Instructor & Asst. Barn Manager

Bridget Hatch is Kingsway's assistant barn manager and instructor. She has an extensive equine background and trained with Tom during her successful junior riding career; highlights of which include qualifying for MHC, NEHC and MHJ Junior Equitation Finals as well as a 4th place finish in the NEEC Junior Horsemanship class with an impressive 95 score in the practical phase. Bridget has worked as a large animal veterinary technician, is a licensed EMT and Massachusetts licensed riding instructor as well as a member of SMART (State of Massachusetts Disaster Animal Response Team), DART (Disaster Animal Response Team) and EPPC (Emergency Prepardness Program Consultants). Bridget holds a BA in liberal arts from Massasoit State College and is vital in the management and meticulous care of Kingsway's equine athletes. She has a warm rapport with her students and a engaging personality which makes her exceptional at giving horses and humans wonderful confidence both in and out of the show ring.
